So, this morning before work, I was checking my usual list of sites, and at Zuneboards I came across a post for another website that was giving away a Microsoft Zune.
So, I went to the site, and read the article on how to get the Zune, and as I sat there I got more and more pissed off.
This person uses a Mac, and mentioned that the Zune software wouldn’t run on the Mac. It just fried me to hear yet another Mac owner happily complaining that something won’t work on their Mac when it’s made for a Windows computer.
When the Zune first came out, all the Apple fan-peeps harped on the fact that it wouldn’t work on a Mac, therefore it was inferior to the iPod. Screw that! It still doesn’t work on a Mac, and more and more reviewers are choosing it OVER the iPod!
The problem, as I see it, is that the Apple fan-peeps decided that in order to be “cool” (aka, uber-geeky) they needed to be using an overpriced, buggy computer from a company named for the fruit that got Adam and Eve kicked out of Eden (if you believe that hogwash) and run by a tyrannical dictator who calls himself CEO but is in reality nothing more than a celebrity wanna-be.
They chose this system, which has a very small portion of the market, in which to base their computing life around. And then bitch when something designed for the rest of the world doesn’t work for them?
What kind of twisted logic is that?
And before you go ragging on me, stating I shouldn’t make comments like this unless I’ve ever used a Mac, let me make it clear right here: I own a Mac! I have a 3 year-old Mac Powerbook Pro that has sat here for 2 years collecting dust because it died for the 5th time and I gave up trying to deal with Apple about it. I also have a 6 year old IBM ThinkPad that is still running with all original parts (although I cracked the LCD screen and have to use a monitor for it now).
Will I ever own another Mac? HELL NO! I refuse to spend twice as much money for something that is going to last a third as long.
But if you are willing to spend the extra dough for it, and deal with the fact that most companies don’t create software for it, go right ahead and do it.
Just quit complaining about it!
