Boston.com has on their site 38 photographs from photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand of views of our planet taken from the sky, and I have to tell you that they are some of the most spectacular photos I have seen in a very long time.

These photos represent a small portion of the 150 photos that will be on display in New York City starting May next year. I am definitely going to have to return to NYC to see these in person!

Out of the 38 photos that Boston.com shows, my favorite is number 34, The Gorges of the Bras de Caverne, on the island of Reunion, France. The photo shows a section of the world that is untouched (meaning not completely destroyed) by humans, and is quite possibly the most beautiful section of land I have ever seen.

I do have a runner-up photo: number 14, Tsingy Bemaraha, Morondava region, Madagascar. Seeing that one lonely tree among all of the rock is just amazing. I would like to see that in person one day as well, but not as much as I want to see Reunion!

So, I heard there was a beta version of Live Writer 3 available, so I updated to it, and I am having some fun!

The Tilting pictures are a blast! Plus, I can easily embed video now, where it was such a pain in the butt with the last version.

All in all, I would say Microsoft has done an excellent job with this update.

I was just out back in the yard, and saw the 9/11 spotlight shining on the clouds and knew I needed a picture. I took it in color, but it came out looking like crap on my camera’s screen (and even worse when I saw it full size!) so I tried it in black and white and got the shot below.
