Maybe! LOL!

I finally found a plug-in for my website that allows my blog posts here to go to Twitter AND to Facebook, so now all of my followers and friends will see updates to this site automatically!

You just have to love the way one can make things come together in today’s digital world!

My plain, boring website has undergone a dramatic transformation from ho-hum to hoo-boy!

I was in the back end of the site adding some behind-the-scenes features when I decided to take a look at some new themes that were available. I found this one and decided to give it a try, and boy am I glad I did!

This theme incorporates all of the stuff I have been wanting on my website for a long time – 3 columns, the scrolling posts, the handling of pages, the thumbnails in the posts, even the color scheme! It was as if someone got into my head and looked at all of the things I wanted and decided to design a theme just for me! There are a few small things I still need to look into (like the pictures in the scroller above that come and go as they please), but this is the best theme I have ever come across.

The stuff I was working on behind the scenes doesn’t affect you, the reader, so I am not going to bore you with any of the details of that.

I hope you like the new design as much as I do, as I plan to keep it for quite some time!

So, I have finished my final portfolio for my Creative Writing class, and have added my six poems to my writing site. I also updated my short fiction piece “Chapter’s End” with the changes that the professor wanted added.

Another non-fiction piece, called “Surviving ‘My Death Sentence’” was added as well. It is a short essay on how I came to write the non-fiction piece “My Death Sentence.”

Hopefully I won’t get too burned out with all of the work I still need to do to finish this semester that I can write a little more and add it to the site as well.

You can go to my writing section by clicking here. The writing site is down, permanently.

Now, onto other news. IT’S FREAKING SNOWING!!!

It’s May 8th, and it’s snowing! It was nearly 90 degrees a couple days ago, and now we have snow! No wonder the phrase “global warming” is being replaced with “climate chaos.”

The semester is coming to a very quick end, and I have so much I still need to get done, but fortunately I have finished one class already, gotten my portfolio finished, have almost finished one of two final projects for another class, and have started working on another project I have to do.

I also have three tests to study for that are coming up in the next 10 days.

Will I be getting straight A’s this semester, like I have the last two? Probably not. My Algebra/Trig class and Marketing class are more than likely not going to be A’s this semester. Hopefully they will not be low enough to keep me off the Dean’s List. They shouldn’t be, but I am not positive. We’ll have to see.

I’ve had a Twitter account for quite a long time now. In fact, I got my account not too long after Twitter first started.

How many Twitter posts have I done up to now? Three!

That’s right! I have done 3 posts on Twitter until this point. Obviously I didn’t exactly do anything with it.

But, that’s all about to change, because I now have it set up so that all of my posts from the website also post to Twitter. Now, every time I post here, it also shows on Twitter. This should boost my Twitter usage quite a bit!

Of course, I need to be able to increase my posts on this site as well, so now I might just have to start writing a little more!

And with school starting up again in about 3 weeks, I should have some more topics to discuss on this site, particularly with the Creative Writing class I am taking!

So, it took me about 2 weeks of searching and trying many, many, many different things in order to get my website to finally work so that I can post pictures onto my website with Windows Live Writer.

Turns out it was a certain file on my website that is generated by WordPress, and somehow or other it got messed up during the upgrade I did to version 2.8.

Now, this is NOT a file that can just be downloaded and off you go. Instead, it is a special, un-named file that gets generated when you change your options within WordPress, specifically the changes in how posts are stored on the site.

And one of the things that this file does is puts photos into their proper folders within my website. Since this file was corrupted, the system had no clue where to put photographs, so it reported an error and refused to post anything that had a picture in it.

But now that I have managed to find that file, make a few modifications to it, and get it back onto the site with the changes, I can now post photos onto the site again!

And since I used a picture of my truck for the test post, I am going to leave it in this post (which is the same post, just retitled and more detail added).
