My first assignment for my Creative Writing class is due as a draft on Monday. It is supposed to be 3 pages long, mine is 11. I guess I can’t really keep things short! LOL

I have posted the draft to my Writing website (link is to the side of this page) as two separate parts, but listed under the page labeled Non-Fiction.

You can check out the website here or go directly to Part 1 or Part 2.

Hope you enjoy them!

So, I have about an hour before I need to go to work, so I figured I would give a bit of an update here.

I have been focusing much of my posting energy on the web series I was creating as part of Web Series Writing Month. I have gotten the first episode posted in full, and I am writing (or trying to write) the second episode and finish planning the third.

I also have one biography written and posted, with 9 more of those to go.

I am hoping and praying that I will be able to get them all finished before the end of the month, but work is kicking my ass, and school is about to start again, so I am not 100% positive I will be able to finish the goals I had set out for myself with this project.

But that’s actually okay. It at least got me to start writing again, and thinking about the story again.

So, if you would like to read the first episode you can go here to see it as a PDF file, or here to read it on the website.

New sub-domain

I have created a new sub-domain to the website for a new web series I am trying to write.

I have been trying to write this series for several years now, and have always started it then moved away from it, only to let it sit around taking up space on my hard drive.

Well, yesterday I was over at the EpiGuide website, checking out the forums and discovered that they have designed something called Web Series Writing Month. The idea behind this is to set up some writing goals for your web series, and trying to achieve them during the month of August.

So I figured this might be a way to kick myself in the ass and actually start writing this damned story that has been going through my head for so many years I have lost count!

I set my goals to get the premiere episode written, as well as two more episodes and bios for the main characters, and get them all posted to the website.

But after signing up I realized a few things:

If I am going to create a series, I should have a dedicated site for it and August is going to be one busy month for me!

So, I have set up a new sub-domain on my website specifically for this series I want to write, and I will deal with all of the busy parts of August in some way! :-)

You’ll find a link over on the right labeled The Biddinger Chronicles which will take you to the new site. I hope you will all enjoy it!

…before I shut down the computer and pack it away for my trip tomorrow.

I was asked via email if I was going to be doing anymore podcasts. At this time, I am not planning on doing so, as I feel that boring all of you to death is a crime against humanity.

That being said, I have not completely ruled out the idea of doing more podcasts, just that I do not want to do them right now.

In order to bring them back, I really need to sit down and figure out what the main theme of the podcast is going to be. After all, you listen to a podcast because you are interested in the topic the podcast is about. Listening to some shmuck babble on about the news of the day, or rant about something that is completely off-topic, or just generally boring the hell out of you does not make for a good podcast.

So, once I have decided on what I truly want the podcast to be about, I will entertain the idea of doing them again, hopefully with someone else who is interested in doing it as well.

What I do know is that i am planning on doing more writing this summer, so my podcast may end up being more along the lines of audio books, rather than rants and raves and news of the day and school.

Have a good night, and I will post again soon! (Wow, I have posted more in the last 4 days than I have in month’s! I am supposed to be on vacation!)

Many years ago I had planned to be a novelist.

I had a little notebook filled with plot ideas for books, hundreds of them, ranging from Stephen King-esque horror stories to Gone With The Wind-like epics to science fiction sagas that would have made George Lucas regret he had every thought of Star Wars.

I was going to be the most famous author to ever live: Bigger than Mailer, bigger than Hemingway, bigger than Dickens or Twain.

So what stopped me?

I wrote. That’s what stopped me.

One evening, many years ago, I sat down at the computer (yes, I had one way back
