Australia…

My heart and prayers go out to all of the families in Australia who have lost loved ones in the horrendous fires that have taken place there in the last week.

These fires have been devastating, pure and simple, and nothing will ever remove the horror and tragedy from these people’s lives.

I have tried to NOT watch news footage of the fires, because every time I see photos or video of it, my heart just breaks and I begin tearing up.

But at this moment, I am actually crying. The tears are streaming down my cheeks because, as devastating as the fires were, there was a small glimmer of hope.

And her name is Sam.

Sam is a Koala, and if you are seeing my site then you have definitely seen the picture below of a volunteer firefighter named David Tree giving water to Sam, as it has become a huge hit on the internet.

Yes, this picture tugged the heart strings. But that’s not why I am crying. I am crying because of the article in which I grabbed this picture, and found the video below.

In the article, from The Daily Mail in the UK, Tree explains how Sam looked up at him as if to say she wanted to die. He explains how she reached up and placed a burnt paw into his hand, and let him give her the water.

Sam was rescued, and placed with a rescue center, where she met Bob, another burnt Koala, and the two of them have become fast friends, holding each other.

Watch the video below, and check out the full story at the Daily Mail here.

I’ve got podcast 3 up and running.

And for those of you who are interested, Britney Spears is looking for a few good people to star in her new music video for “If You Seek Amy.” Here is the link!

Enjoy!

New iPhone coming?

Gizmodo has a mock up of what they think the new iPhone is going to look like, and honestly, I like what I see. However, I also liked it when it was used as the mock up for the Zune Phone last year, and the year before that.

Yes, there are some very noticeable differences between the pictures in those two links, but look at the overall shape, the thinness of the bezels, and screen, and you will see that the two of them are very much alike.

While I prefer the look of the iPhone concept better, I would be more likely to buy the Zune, if it were to go into production. The reason for this is that I am not a fan of Apple products in general, and I hate, with a passion, AT&T.

Of course, it would be a moot point if the Zune phone either does not go into production, or is available only at AT&T.

There was an epic fail at Google today, as earlier this morning they decided that every site on the internet, including themselves, was harmful to your computer. Click the link to see the evidence from techcrunch.

 http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/01/31/google-flags-whole-internet-as-malware/

Now, as those of you who have followed my previous blog know that I went through hell with Google and at one point had even registered the domain name of googlesucksass.com. I have since given up that registration because Google just isn’t worth the hassle.

But today’s little fuck up is just one more reason that Google sucks, and why I do not use them unless I absolutely have to (such as school, where everything is based off Google apps, unfortunately).

I would say within the next 5 years, Google will be completely out of favor, their stock will tank, and we’ll find out that Google really was a scam all along. I could be wrong, of course, but I hope and pray that I am right!

Hi again!

It’s pretty late at night, but after I uploaded the newest podcast I realized that I was pretty tired of the black theme. It really was hard to read, so I went back to my old favorite theme, my standard and best look.

So, hope you like the old new look!

Going to bed now! :-)

Daniel McCue : Again I have to apologize for the double update. My website automatically sends updates to Facebook, and when I realized I had placed the page in the worng place, the fix was automatically sent to Facebook as well. I guess that's what happens when you try doing something at 2 in the morning!
