Contradiction
You speak of peace
and of love
and of acceptance.
But your actions
speak louder than you.
Your actions reek
of hatred and contempt
for anyone who
does not think like you.
You talk of letting anyone
join in your family fun,
except for those who might
need a family the most.
You join together once a week
to speak of love and joy,
basking in the glory of a great one.
But you spend the other six days
fighting against your brothers and sisters,
denying them the pleasures you enjoy
just because they are not like you.
In one moment you speak of
the greatness of heaven, where
all are to be alike. In the next
you condemn millions to
eternal flames, to burn
forever and ever, amen.
In the name of righteousness,
you have declared many wars
and killed millions of people.
And while you may not actually
pull the trigger, the blood of the
dead remains on your hands.
Wouldn’t it be ironic if you
were held accountable in the end,
and those you killed
in the name of righteousness
enjoyed the spoils you thought
you would receive, and you
were the one to burn
until eternity’s end?
